UPDATE YOUR KNOWLEDGE - FISHING FLEET - HASTINGS

We are very pleased to offer training days at The Classroom on the Coast working alongside the fishermen from Hastings.
These days are completely dependent on the weather... if the fleet haven't been able to fish we will work with alternative species not landed locally.

Join one of our team at The Stade on Rock-a-Nore Road in Hastings at 7am.

After a briefing we head off to the fish market to view the catch of the morning and to make our purchases for the cutting session.

Weather permitting we aim to head down to the shore to watch one of the boats landing and being winched up the beach before unloading the catch.

Before breakfast there is a chance to view the fishermen's huts and see what is straight off the boat that morning and make further purchases.

Breakfast is served in The Angling Club. We hope to have one of the local fishermen to talk about the challenges of fishing from a local day boat.

Around 9am we move into the Classroom where there is an opportunity to cut the purchased fish. This will be delivered by a local fishmonger or one of the team from the seafood school.

To round up the day we cook the species cut and talk about sustainability and the local catch.

The morning finishes around 12pm
